Following enquiries to the OFAS office, OFAS have said that they do plan now to put a bridge over the stream at the point where it had earlier come to a dead end. HOEG appreciates their willingness to take local knowledge into account. The new bridge will be an improvement to the scheme.

HOEG wishes to make clear that it supports the need for flood alleviation but strongly objects to the plans for the huge and unnecessary up to 200 metre channel.

If the OFAS scheme is approved there will still be no access whatsoever to the floodplain for 3 years. Dog walkers will have to exercise their pets and we will need to go for walks along the A34.
